Green and gold quilled jhumka
Certain colour combinations always attract us very much. One such combination is green and gold. Be it in dress or in any other accessory this definitely is attractive and the wearer gets a second look too.
Infact when you are making jhumkas with two different coloured strips you need to be careful with the right and wrong side else there will be ups and downs. Rub your finger gently over both the sides the right side of the strip will be smooth and the wrong side will have a slight curve. Unless this is followed the jhumka will not be a perfect dome.

A perfect dome shaped red cherry jhumka
Making a perfect dome shape in quilling is always a challenge and if you are able to achieve it, it definitely gives immense pleasure. Yes I was able to achieve it and I did name that jhumka red cherry and it became one of the possessions of my sister-in-law. After varnishing and after adding the wonderful red crystal bead, it gave a majestic look to the whole piece. For a change I added the bead on top of the cone shaped bead cap and that gave even more elegant look according to me. Don't you too feel so?

Painting using Brush Tip Water Colour Pens
Take this as a review or even as a complimentary post. I am definitely overwhelmed by the colour and texture that I was able to produce using the Sakura Water Colour pens that I got from Ananda Stationery Mart, Adayar. Thanks for the suggestion they made when I went to purchase some brush tip pens. Infact I am keeping that pretty safe and have not allowed my kids to touch them so far. They seem to be too precious to me.
During last Navarathri, I wanted to do something with the paper cups that I have and inspite of all ideas that went through my mind, I atlast got the courage to paint it with water colours and decorate them in Warli designs. It was one of the star attraction during Navarathri and everyone appreciated it. The colours are definitely different after they dried. The pen was easy to handle and the pack contained 24 colours which include a grey and a black too.

Yellow Rose Necklace
On seeing the rose set I made, my niece asked a neck set for her and she was so specific she wanted only in yellow colour, and it should not have any pendant and it should be close to the neck. Phew!!! These kids.
But, I did make her one such set and after making it, I found that the yellow roses are quite plain. So added a small very small kundan stone in the middle of the rose and it gave a very majestic look to the set.

Complete set using quilled rose
Making of quilled roses never cease. That too I just cant stop making one set. When there is an order for a rose set, there is a multitude of orders coming all along and I get to do a few more sets. The first set was ordered by another blogger friend for her niece and it never stopped. But in every set, I have tried to give a difference in the bracelet, if I am asked to make one. This is a simple rose set with a rose bunch for pendant, Four roses for ear ring and a hair clip with single rose and a chain bracelet with roses in between. It turned out pretty well and the little girl for which this was gifted liked it very much.
