Murals

I am not so sure whether this kind of art work is Mural work or not but tried making 2 designs using mdf and shilpikar clay.

Ceramic Cone Art

One of kind of air clays that could be made at home is ceramic clay. This clay can be used to make Murals and name plates. But apart from using it as a clay, it can be made in a semi solid form, just like Mehandi cone, and different kinds of art work can be used to make different art works and designs.

How to prepare ceramic cones?

Things needed:
Ceramic powder (available in hardware shops)- 1/2 kg
Fevicol - 1/2 kg
Water - 1 cup
Plastic covers (transparent ones)
Cello tape

Method:
In a shallow mixing bowl take 2 spoons of ceramic powder add 2 spoons of fevicol and 1 spoon of water and mix it well. Add the colour of your choice and mix again. Filter the mixture to remove lump. Make a cone in the plastic cover. Pour the mixture in the cone mildly hit the cone on the floor or wall to remove air. Seal the cone on top with cello tape.

Here are a few items that are decorated using ceramic cones.

Making of Pillayar using Shilpikar

After a long time, I rekindled my passion for my craft works. For quite some time, I have been trying to make the idol of Ganesha using air dry clay. Without knowing how to do it properly, with just my imagination, I tried making it using m-seal. The idol turned out in black and painting it was a bit difficult. Then turned to Shilpikar Clay. It turned out to be a superb piece of work. Though not perfect enough, I am happy that I was able to make the work near to perfect. Ganesha turned out to shine after painting it. But still I am not confident enough to make it in larger numbers and give it off or sell it.
