Quilled Ganesha for Dangler

#Project366, Day12

After making the crimped dangler, I felt it looked very simple and plain. So wanted to add something to both the sides.  A small and cute Ganesha is ready to be struck to one side of the dangler. Thinking of what to do for the other side. Before doing it, here is my cute Ganesha. For the reference of size, I have added both the original picture and the zoomed one. Making of Ganeshas always are fun and give me peace too.

Quilled flowery magnet

#Project366, Day11

A small flowery magnet to stick the essentials to the fridge. The 10 mm woody colour strips which were just a few left came in handy to make this flower. Simple but useful.

Quilled Kumkuma Chimiz on leaf

#Project366, Day10

Another first try of this kind. Though I have already made Ganesha on leaf, wanted to try something to be given to every one in Thamboolam when they visit our home or during festival occassions. Ofcourse this is just a try so I am not that much worried about the outcome. I missed the quilling comb tool somewhere (only to find it after making the entire thing), so used normal comb and so the outcome of the leaf was not that satisfactory. Still this have given me an idea and soon you will see something new and different with the same concept.

Crimped dangler

#Project366, Day9

Wanted to make something as dangler. Though I have not added any bells to it, I wanted something to sway with the wind. So have tried with crimped strips. Though these are 10 mm strips, after crimping, I was not able to make a tight coil with them. Ofcourse that is also something good as I was able to shape it out with ease. I made a triangle with a slight bend at the top. The pink and cream colour mix is something new. You can infact see some glue as I tried to apply to make it tight.

The smallest and cutest Teddy that I made

#Project366, Day8

I wanted something to stick on to the front page of my kid's school project as a part of the decoration. So tried making a small teddy face. It definitely turned out real cute. And here it is. It was just the face alone. I am sharing both the close up view and also the normal click for you to understand the size of the teddy.

Quilled Coasters

#Project366, Day 7

It all started as yet another day and I was making circles out of the strips that was strewn around after making a project. The colours were mainly yellow, orange and brown. So made circles out of them and attached together and encircled it in a square of brown strip and here it became a simple tea light candle holder or can be used as a coaster too. The combo of yellow, orange and brown gives a enchanting effect.

A simple quilled fridge magnet

#Project366, Day6

With a few lot of work around, I was able to do something for today's project only by the end of the day. Was planning to make a few fridge magnets to hold up the things that I normally stick to in my fridge. Fridge magnets are the one that I often miss. So started making one such fridge magnet.

Shall I call it a plate of roses yes that will be the apt word.

Made a small plate using 5 mm white strips. Added 3 roses. Two in baby pink and one bright pink to enhance the other two. All these was ready in just 15 mins. Thanks to the rose making bug in me.

Embossed Painting of Aalilai Krishna

#Project366, Day 5

Another embossed painting. Aalailai Krishnar, painted using water colour pens. These kids definitely come in handy and easy to paint too. The water colours dry faster and they give a good effect too. This I am planning to frame and gift to some one.

MDF Cut out painting

#Project366, Day4

We have been waiting to do something for holding all our keys. Though there is one key holder currently, me and kids wanted to use one of the Ganesha cut outs that I had got earlier last year to make one holder for us. And we got time to do it only for this project 366.

Painted the mdf cut out with water colour pens and decorated it with Fevicryl 3D Cones and glitter cones. It turned out really good.

Embossed painting using Water Colour Pens

#Project 366, Day-3

We get printed black sheets with different designs. The colour that comes with the kit is mostly glass painting colours. I wanted to try some thing new in those sheets. Used Sakura Water Colour pens, that I purchased from Ananda Stationery mart. The resulting effect after ironing on the reverse is amazing. Planning to frame it.

Quilled Key Chain

#Project -366, Day2

After learning the weaving technique, I have been making only thorans and garlands using it. Wanted to make something small and tried a different kind of key chain, which can also be used as a hip chain. As of now I have attached the key ring to it and have not attached any jingles. Soon will add them too and post a picture in this same post. So keep watching for it.

This is what I made for Day 2

Pink Garland with Roses

#Project366, Day - 1

The technique of boondongling in quilling is something different and unique. It doesnot need any tools to make it. The knowledge of proper weaving technique is all that is needed. One can make any colour combinations and this can be made in strips of any size. The bigger the size of the strip, the garland becomes bigger. 2 or 3 mm strips can be used as neck wear. They can also be converted to danglers. In the coming days will post one such set.

Here is the garland made of pink with 3 pink roses in the middle covered with glitter glue to give shiny effect in the night light is made for one of the big pictures that hang in the walls of my parent's home. Hope you all like it just the way I like it too. The garland and the roses are made of 15mm strips.

Video of the same will follow soon.

Project 366

Wondering what it could be?

I myself wondered what I want to do. Name was conceived for the project but what I had planned to execute was not that clear. Whether it will be 366 crafts or 366 days of crafts. Then I concluded that I will make at least one project a day, either in quilling or in silk thread or in news paper work or anything that I love to create as a craft. It could be for selling, or for gifting or for personal use. But I want to do atleast one project a day all through the 366 days of the next 2016. Hope I succeed in this venture.
