Catch a fly and hang it in your ears

Kids collections are something which is quite interesting to make. One such is the house fly design.

Two green tear drops attached at the pointed end and joined together with a black circle gives the look of a house fly. Colours of the wings can be customized. SCKC03. Rate - Rs. 25/=

Jhumka with self attached stud

This is another first try. Mini jhumka attached to stud using 3 mm multi colour strips. I cut the strips into 3 equal length and attached the colours in a combined sequence. It was not that easy as I thought it will be. Inspite of this I was so happy with the outcome. This could be worn matching with any dress. The light weight added more advantage.

I also faced a slight disadvantage. The stud base came off after reaching its destination. Have to tell the owner of it to stick it with quick fix. But I am sure she loved it.

The mango shaped stud and the self attached jhumka in multi colours can be worn with any dress with any colour.

2D Quilled Ganeshas

When mom and dad returned to Pune, I wanted to give something to my brother. But at the same time, I also wanted it to be something different and unique. So searched the net as to what I could do either with clay or with quilling. And I got a wonderful idea to make Ganesha in quilling which will be a 2D image. For the first try it did come out really well. The Ganesha can be placed on top of TV or can be hung in the car or can be placed in the front or back of the car. Will post the tutorial for the same soon.

After this I made a few lot of such 2D Ganeshas and gifted to a few many people. These are ideal return gifts and we make it on order. Cost Rs. 50 for nomal colours, Rs. 60 for Neon colours and Rs. 70 for Gold and Silver combos. Price can be negotiated for bulk order.  To order these mail to arrass2501@gmail.com with order code SC2DG with your required colour combination.

Quilled Jhumka in a different style

Ok now after making gift sets in quilling, I wanted to make something for my mom too. Though I was quite apprehensive that she might not wear it, still I made one as a matching set for the new saree that I gifted her.

Who said that Jhumkas or Jhimkis are to be made only in round or dome shape? Here is a trial of square shaped Jhumka. The surprising element was both the jhumkas turned out to be perfectly square shaped. Decorated it with pearls too as my mom loves pearls.

How to make the square shape?
Once the tight coil is made, press the corners of the circle and make it a square shape and then use the Jhumka Mould to create the dome. Care need to be taken to ensure the corners not disturbed while making the dome. Once done ensure that the corners remain intact and glue the inside. Let it dry and glue the outside too.

Haldi Kumkum plate

When we made designer trays, we also made Haldi Kumkum plates. The stainless steel plates were decorated with stones and the designer kumkum boxes which we placed were stuck to it using Fevibond. Nothing else helped us sticking it to the plates. It is definitely a time consuming job to decorate a stainless steel plate and you definitely need strong glue to stick stones or decorative pieces to the plate.

Holiday Project - Painting a CD

Now a days just like Floppy Disks CDs also have become extinct. We have copied most of them into external hard disk. So now they remain unused. And a few of them have also have got damaged too. So we decided to paint in it using acrylic colours. And my daughter did the same. One of the sample.
