Painting using Brush Tip Water Colour Pens

Take this as a review or even as a complimentary post. I am definitely overwhelmed by the colour and texture that I was able to produce using the Sakura Water Colour pens that I got from Ananda Stationery Mart, Adayar. Thanks for the suggestion they made when I went to purchase some brush tip pens. Infact I am keeping that pretty safe and have not allowed my kids to touch them so far. They seem to be too precious to me.

During last Navarathri, I wanted to do something with the paper cups that I have and inspite of all ideas that went through my mind, I atlast got the courage to paint it with water colours and decorate them in Warli designs. It was one of the star attraction during Navarathri and everyone appreciated it. The colours are definitely different after they dried. The pen was easy to handle and the pack contained 24 colours which include a grey and a black too.

Yellow Rose Necklace

On seeing the rose set I made, my niece asked a neck set for her and she was so specific she wanted only in yellow colour, and it should not have any pendant and it should be close to the neck. Phew!!! These kids.

But, I did make her one such set and after making it, I found that the yellow roses are quite plain. So added a small very small kundan stone in the middle of the rose and it gave a very majestic look to the set.

Complete set using quilled rose

Making of quilled roses never cease. That too I just cant stop making one set. When there is an order for a rose set, there is a multitude of orders coming all along and I get to do a few more sets. The first set was ordered by another blogger friend for her niece and it never stopped. But in every set, I have tried to give a difference in the bracelet, if I am asked to make one. This is a simple rose set with a rose bunch for pendant, Four roses for ear ring and a hair clip with single rose and a chain bracelet with roses in between. It turned out pretty well and the little girl for which this was gifted liked it very much.

Valentine's Special of 2015 - 1

I wanted to create something with heart for last year Valentine's day. So tried making two hearts. Infact I wanted to inter link those two hearts but could not succeed. Wasted a few strips in trying so. This year have learnt a technique and I am working on it. Will post it soon. This is something like a small heart on a bigger heart and I thought of making it as a pendant, but one of my friends wanted it to be made it as a key chain to be gifted to his wife and here it is. Used 5 mm strips for the entire work. Made tear drop shape and fused them together to form a heart. In the bigger heart, each tear drop contains 2 strips and were made as loose tear drop. In the small heart, each tear drop contains one strip made into a tight tear drop.

Quilled Angry Bird 3D

I am sharing a few of the older projects that I have made last year. There were some items that I made for order and a few were made for gifting purpose. When a customer ordered a lot of rose ear rings I thought of gifting her something which she can either have it in her counter top or use in her car as a dangler or stick to the dash board of her car. But she did a great gesture of gifting the same to a special child who was very happy in having it. That very thing gave me even more happiness than she using it personally. A 1000 and more thanks to her. And that really made my day when she shared it.

Used 5mm strips for the entire piece. There are 25 strips of red and 25 stips of white. The ears were made of 2 and 1 strips each. The nose were made of 1 yellow strip each. The white part of the eye is a 1 strip of 5 mm and the black part is 1 strip of 3 mm.

Quilled Ganesha for Dangler

#Project366, Day12

After making the crimped dangler, I felt it looked very simple and plain. So wanted to add something to both the sides.  A small and cute Ganesha is ready to be struck to one side of the dangler. Thinking of what to do for the other side. Before doing it, here is my cute Ganesha. For the reference of size, I have added both the original picture and the zoomed one. Making of Ganeshas always are fun and give me peace too.
